The style of decoration on this beautiful vase is called ‘Spanish Ware’. As here, it is the technique of tracing a fine raised gold outline around the flowers and leaves. On a vellum ground, the chrysanthemum petals are each traced with gold. Impressed Doulton mark to base together with the decorator’s monogram.
