James Hadley Inverted Pear-Shaped Vase
A slender vase with an inverted pear-shaped body standing upon a pedestal foot. Two handles rest upon the vase shoulder in between which a trumpet like neck rises to the flared rim. Richly decorated in green, brown and pink glazes with the handles being in a dark blue glaze. Expertly painted with Iris flowers to the front and grasses and cowslips to the reverse. Gilt highlights throughout. At one stage this vase would have had a cover now long since lost.
Circa 1900-1902
Condition: In excellent condition with no damages or repairs and with the decoration and gilding remaining vibrant. There may have been minor repainting of the gilt around the neck rim.
