A lovely example of a rose jar complete with its inner lid and pierced top cover. Designed to be a pot pourri or rose jar to allow the fragrance to escape though the pierced cover but could be regulated by use of the inner cover. The baluster shaped body stands on a foot decorated with basket weave moulding, has a pierced cover and has moulded spirals to the vase body, all decorated in a light blue glaze with gilded highlights. The shoulders of the vase are superbly decorated in shot enamel pink roses and flower sprays.
Dated: Circa 1895
Condition: In excellent condition with no damage, crazing or restoration. The gilding remains bright and intact.
